vau...

So now we are already in the place where we are going to have our EVS, so its a community in San Marcos, and the name is Nuevo Progresso. When we arrived here then we met the person from the municipality and the firedepartment guys. There were some people coming to ask and asking what is going on because we are actually the first tourists there that they can remember. And of course the first volunteers from abroad. And so many people are so excited about us, because they really need help in different fields and if they saw us then they just came to us, even if we don´t have enough capasities (volunteers) to change everything for the better but we will definitely try to help. The city here is even poorer then guatemala city was. There a lot of starved dogs on the streets and the village here is quite small. I see soo often how small kids are working and people are carring hard things that are attached to their heads – seems like everybody are working to survive – no one is resting. The kids are always very excited when they see me, they come to me and want to talk. I am also a good friend with one monkey here , yes a monkey, who is kept in this diner where we eat every day..he is very mallow. But yesterday i had my first experience with visiting the ocean J and i swim there and the water wasnt salty at allllll and we were swimming in the pasific ocean.. but then i was in the sun for 1,5 hours and i am completely burned, you cant even imagine... and yes.. today we are planning to go to the jungle and today i will also find out what will be my work for the next week – so can´t wait J

The day with the Sevice For Peace

Today I also woke up like 4 o clock in the morning. I am still not used to this kind of time.. but today we started our day very very active. We welcomed a Luiz from the NGO "Moving dreams" and we went to some place in Guatemala where were little children ( like 2-5 years old). The place is a daily care center for children whos parents are really poor and can't afford to take them to the kindergardens, so that they could go to work. So we were there for a while and played games with the children. This was a very lovely beginning for a day - just to see all these smily faces and recieving a lot of hugs!!! Afterwards we had a lunch in some kind of pizza bar and then we had a very very long trip to meet people from SFP...the traffic is really crazy here!! Then we went to the place called Aganini, where they keep disabled children whos parents left them.... It was absolutely amazing to see how strong these workers are, who are taking care of the people there (i said people, because there were not only children there.. the oldest person was about 50), it was a very hard experience and we were asked to be as strong as we can, because yes, it was quite shocking. But then again, It was nice to see, that there are actually so many organisatsions created by people who dedicate their life to help someone. It is really great. And a interesting thing about this organisation is that they don't get any support from the government. Afterwards we had a dinner and now i arrived back to my home. :) i will never forget that day

dangerous Guatemala

So we have been here for two days now and a lot of things have happened actually. Yesterday we had a session when we talked about the organisation Pro Paz and afterwards we went to the city, there was a somekind of festival that takes part every sunday. All of the salesman came to the streets and there was a stage put up and a lot of music and so on:) and of course the weather was very hoooottttt!!!!! and we were walking for a very long long time, but it was good :) The parts of the cities are very very different. We are living on the poor side right now and it is completely different from the rich side.... I have had so many fresh fruits here, it is soo amasing. they taste very goood:):) and we have already had our first experience with hearing gun shots.. it is kind of creepy but well... yeah, we are in guatemala city, it is quite normal here. But today we will see the city again and meet some people.

talk to you soon

I'm here!!!

So.. the first blog entry from GUATEMALA will be in english because I don't have enough time at the moment to write it in both languages. So we arrived yesterday at 16.20 and the weather was quite ok. It was foggy and chilli but it was nice :) a lot of mountains and we can see a big big volcano from here. So we are now in the PRO PAZ embassy, we are here for 3 days then we will go travelling for one day and then we will have 3 more training days in San Marcos! :) the weather today is sooo hot :):) But guatemala..wow..the city. total cultural clash, it is so poor and the people always want to talk to us. They said that it is very dangerous to move around so we are taking small walks around the block...it would be tooo dangerous to go further :( Everything is surrounded by walls and you can't really see what the houses look like. But yes.. It is very exciting to be here, i am very happy and i hope that we will have a veryyyy nice time here.. you can also write questions under the comment page, and i will answer them as soon as possible. but now i have to go for my training and I hope to have more time to talk to you :)

bye bye bye bye
love you
